With 2 weeks to go to the first of my 2 World cup races in Asia, I wanted to test my run fitness. Together with other athletes of my federation (duathletes) we teamed up to take part in the Brussels Ekiden relay marathon. I was the first runner of our team, I had to run a 5K.
The plan was to start all out and to just hang on for as long as possible. I did just that and was able to come 2nd with a time of under 14 minutes for 4.7k on a very hilly course.
In the end, our team managed to secure a very good 6th place.
Not too long, but a very fast trainingsession which give me a good feeling! Hopefully the races in Asia will go even better!
