Annual obligatory race, Triathon de Gérardmer!
Stunning race, beautiful surroundings and race course and lots of people cheering you on. That is what makes Gérardmer an unforgettable race. And together with the fact that the bike course is really hilly, making up a total amount of 2000m+ of elevation gain over the 90km bike part. Amazing!
Coming back as the title defender (I won the 2023 XL edition) is never easy but no way I would be missing this race. I had taken to time to let the body recover, got some proper trainig in again and was feeling eager to race again after more than a month away.
I had a solid race all day and managed to take 4th place. Content with the result, but ofcourse you always want more. Some things to still improve on, but very satisfiying to be able to race again and to my capabilities.
