"A heavy swell, forecast to increase, saw the swim cancelled at today’s Challenge Barcelona, turning the race into a duathlon for the sold-out field of 3,500 athletes. But this did not deter Jonathan Wayaffe @jonathanwayaffe_tri (BEL) and Caroline Pohle @caro_pohle (GER) from achieving their wins in 2:18:55 and 2:37:36 respectively. The day started with a one-minute silence out of respect to all those who tragically lost their lives in the recent catastrophic flooding in Spain, just a short distance down the coast from Barcelona."

Super happy to take the win 🏆 @barcelonatriathlon !
My 2nd @challengefamily Triathlon win with the PRO's
Triathlon turned into a duathlon format due to the sea being too rough because of adverse weather conditions.
I felt good from the beginning and raced up front all day long, even when the rain started pouring down.
Happy that I could take the tape and end my season on a high 🙌
Great and appropriate job by the organisation and @challengefamily to still make this race happen, but with respect to the victims and everyone affected by the horrible disaster at Valencia. Hence, 1 minute of silence before the start and no podium ceremony.
THis was the last race of my season. Very happy I could still make something of this last part, given the first 2 months were rubbish. One advice, don't crash when the season is starting. Even better, just do not crash.
Off season now
