Half marathon Murcia (ESP)

first ever Half Marathon race. A step into the unknown!

After being 1 month in Spain for my winter training, It thought it would be nice to engage in some running events. First up was the Medio Marathon of Murcia. A big event, wel known and with some strong participants! As it was only a 1h drive away, it seemed perfect to partcipate in this one.

Having just done my 'normal' winter training, consisting of a lot of long-slow distance and just a small proportion of intensity in all 3 disciplines, I had some doubts about my shape I was in. Ofcourse I would be not in my best shape, therefore I was lacking hard training sessions. But even knowing this, I had no idea.

Then the race itself... I should not ahve doubted so much. It went really well!

1h04´42" was a time I did not anticipate, but it sure is a very nice one. Just missed out on the podium as I was hurting badly the last km. Although I could still accelerate hard the last km with a 2'50", the others just were quicker.

4th position it was 🍫. Did not know what to expect but it surely was a blast! 💥 nice to mix up winter training 👍
