T3 Series Final Lille, Team Relay (BEL)

The final race of the belgian national circuit.

As I like doing team relay races, I had to race in Lille, which was the final race of the belgian national circuit.

In Belgium I normally represent the Sp&o Mechelen team, but as this race was called “the clash between Belgium and the Netherlands” 10 Dutch teams were also invited to come over and race for the title. Sp&o was able to put together a team without me, which meant I would be racing for my dutch team SQUADRA. A team consisted of 3 athletes. The race was a very short 300m swim, 5k bike and 1,5 k run for every teammember!

As my 2 teammates had done a very god job in their races, I started my heat in 2nd position, approximately 1 minute down on the leader in the race. I felt good along all 3 disciplines and managed to close the gap to 15 seconds but it wasn’t enough to take the victory. But still very happy nonetheless!

This was a nice way to end the TRIATHLON season for me. But 1 goal still remains: te European Championship Duathlon in Ibiza (ESP) the 20th of octobre, where I’m aiming to show myself!
