Every year my Belgian team, SP&O, traditionally hosts a 2-day triathlon event fully packed with races. This year the date suited me really well in preparation of 2 European cups to come. So I gave it a shot. The format was an olympic distance triatlon. Some dangerous contenders were competing, so it wasn't going to be easy.
I had a good swim and exited the water 3rd, and found myself at the head of the race. On the bike, I settled in the lead pack together with 2 teammates. This meant we could play out some team tactics and make the other athletes work for it. We entered T2 as a pack of 6 athletes. Once off for the run, I quickly found myself running in first position. I just had to consolidate and bring the victory home. With the upcoming European races, I did not want to dig too deep.
Very happy to win on home soil and see my younger teammates perform well! A good rehearsel for 2 ETU races to come!
